The Pool
Barry Road pool was build in 1903 and has a quaint character, there are ladder steps entering the pool, the changing is via poolside cubicles as in the picture above.
Barry Road is kept at a warm and comfortable temperature of between 30 and 32°c to ensure everyone can concentrate on their swimming.
New born Babies will need a change mat at this venue as the facilties are basic. In 2003, Aqualight Started using Barry road pool to teach babies & children, some 100 years after it’s construction. Ever since we have used barry road as one of our pools to teach in. In 2018 the council had little option but to close the pool following the Barry Road School becoming an Academy however we offered to run the pool and after many meetings, the pool has been saved.Classes at Barry Road Primary
